Year 11 students from Canowindra High School were presented at the Debutante Ball last Saturday.
Last Saturday evening, 14th October, ten beautiful young women and their dashing partners, from from Year 11 at Canowindra High School participated in the Canowindra High School P&C Debutante Ball. Canowindra’s 53rd Annual Debutante Ball was held at the Canowindra Services Club.
Mrs Kath Balcombe (dance teacher) alongside Ms Kathy Davis and Mrs Peta McKenzie managed to take 10 blundering dance couples and transform them into ballroom stars.
Before the formalities began, the students headed to Mark and Kim Edwards garden for the official photos. The Debutantes then made their way to the Canowindra Services Club for their night to begin.
MC for the night, Kathy Davis helped the evening flow and each debutante and their partner were formally presented to Mr Zac Rue and Mr Steve Wilson in front of many family and friends, before beautifully performing two dances.
The formalities included speeches by debutantes, cake cutting and photos. After which, everyone hit the dance floor with the talents of local DJ Kevin Reid encouraging everyone to pull out their best dance moves.
An amazing night was had by everyone, made possible by the support and hard work of the Canowindra High School P&C and parents of Debutantes and partners along with our school staff.
