Following on from the huge success of the first Baroquefest event this year, the dates for the 2016 music festival have already been announced for 14-16 October.
“Congratulations and compliments have flooded in from concert goers and the interest of top musicians and of funding bodies in future Canowindra events is flowing through to the committee,” wrote the Canowindra Fine Music Group.
“Many people who attended only one concert have commented that they intend to get to more next year! The committee endorsed that strongly, recognising too that there are ways we can improve the smooth running of
each event and enhance the experience for our patrons.”
“One of the special delights of this year’s program was the diversity and openness of the musicians, such as the demonstration and discussion of violin making by luthier Peter Reid. The family of instruments on display, made by Peter from Australian timbers is quite unique. The bellies of all four
were made from one King William pine tree over 800 years old.”
