With businesses facing unprecedented challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, organisers of the Cabonne Daroo Business Awards have reluctantly decided to postpone the awards until next year.
Daroo Business Awards Committee chairperson Libby Oldham said it would not be appropriate to conduct the awards this year while many non-essential businesses have been forced to close and others are dealing with a large downturn in turnover.
“Hopefully, with the help of Federal and State Government assistance packages, we’ll see businesses come out the other side of this crisis and next year will be a time to celebrate their success,” she said.
It is the first time in their 21-year history, the organising committee has had to postpone the Daroos, which were to have been announced at a presentation dinner in Canowindra in November.
“We will now have a big 21st birthday celebration in 2021 in Canowindra,” Mrs Oldham said.
