CWA Friendship Morning Tea brings people together.
Another wonderful morning tea was held at CWA Canowindra last Monday and the hall was filled with chatter and laughter.
The friendship morning teas have been growing steadily since their inception a year ago. CWA saw a need for a get together and natter to encourage people new to our town and those that don’t manage to get out and about to come and enjoy our community hospitality.
Starting with just eight people, the monthly event has grown to over 30 and there is still room for more. You don’t have to book, just turn up at 10.30am on the second Monday each month, and finishing by midday to allow the CWA ladies to get home or to work by lunchtime.
Monday was no exception to the previous events with scrumptious goodies to eat, all baked by CWA members. Each month there is a different theme, some of which have included the Queen’s Jubilee, the Coronation of King Charles III, winter warmers, and Christmas just to name a few. This gives CWA members a chance to provide some extra special treats for those attending. One lady was overheard to say “I can’t wait to come here, catch up and enjoy some great cooking.”
The CWA provides a pick up service for those that don’t drive. Although the morning is free of charge, donations to cover the cost of ingredients are appreciated.
