Tommy Jeffs’ Curry Night was held at the Canowindra Bowling Club on Friday 3rd July as a fundraiser for the Club and it was a sensational night.
The evening was sold out and local musician Oli Statham and his band performed to a full house of food lovers and community supporters of all ages.
“It was a great crowd and people really enjoyed the large variety of curries we served up,” Tommy said. Food on offer included a lamb rogan josh, a thai chicken curry, a beef curry by the ladies at the Bowling Club and all the accompaniments, like pappadams, yoghurt and fresh breads.
There was a shortfall of $500 in the fundraising which was generously donated at the end by Tommy himself, and the new curtains will go up in the Bowling Club this weekend.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to Radka, Ellen and Moyna who helped out, and a huge big thank you for the community support toward this great cause,” said Tommy. “It was a really lovely crowd and there was a fantastic atmosphere on the night.”
Without the backing of this kind and generous community, fundraising events like these would not be a possibility. We now look forward to Tommy’s Big Italian Night on Friday 4th September, a final fundraiser for the venue, so save the date and get out there in support of your local Bowling Club.
Tommy envisages that all upgrades to the Club will be finished by the end of September. He and the ladies of the Bowling Club will host a High Tea to celebrate the cosmetic upgrades their hard work has achieved and to invite the public to see the Club’s new look.
