CTS Tour BKT Tyre Factory In India

Canowindra Tyre Service owners, Tom and Alison Stephens recently spent a week in In­dia at the BKT factory. Located in Bhuj, the state of the art factory is committed to sus­tainability, their staff and is a leading manu­facturer in the Agricultural, Industrial and OTR sector of the tyre industry.

Tom and Alison travelled with a group of 50 other BKT tyre distributors from across Aus­tralia. Staying onsite at the factory and being fully immersed in the company culture was all part of experiencing what BKT is achiev­ing not only in India but all over the world, growing together with the environment and their people to deliver a product that is up there with the very best.

Testing labs, testing grounds, product testing, engineering and hands-on work to build and create tyres were just a few of the many sections of the factory that go into the manufacturing process. “The technology, in­telligence, quality products and perfection of the factory and plant was unbelievable,” said Alison.

BKT are very proud of their largest tyre, the Earthmax SR 468. 57’’ in size, for rigid dump trucks. Tom and Alison enjoyed witnessing the manufacturing processes of many differ­ent size tyres while there.

In addition to the factory tour, other high­lights of the week included exploring the country, tasting the food, visiting the spice markets in Delhi, the Gateway of India in Mumbai and The Taj Mahal in Agra.

“We were very fortunate to have this expe­rience, and thank BKT for providing this op­portunity of a lifetime,” said Alison.
