Canowindra versed the Young Blues at Twigg Oval in Cowra on Saturday. Pete Guthrie and Ben Schaefer opened the batting but Pete was dismissed early in the 6th over for 8, bringing Captain Brendan Traves to the crease. Brendan and Ben put on a 106 run in 14 overs before Brendan was dismissed for 55. Cano were 2-137 after 19.1 at drinks but a couple of quick wickets with Ben 78, Shaun Craven 0 and Matt Harrison 8 falling within 7 overs put Canowindra on the back foot. This saw G. Singh and Jac Devlin with a good knock of 40 to steady the side to 220. Canowindra were on top until L.Cosgrove came to the crease with Z.Williams to put a 59 run partnership in 9 overs. Shaun Craven dismissed Cosgrove for 40, then another wicket fell. G.Singh bowled extremely well and Nick Traves and P. Guthrie bowled very tight at the end, seeing Canowindra win their 2nd game in a row. Results were: Nick Traves taking 2 wickets for 38 from 8 , G.singh 2-33 from 8 , S. Craven 2-28 from 2 , P.Guthrie 1-41 from 8 Matt McLean 1-29 from 5 and a run out to B. Traves saw Young Blues 9/205 after the 40 overs . Canowindra arenow on top of the table. Next Saturday they take on Morongla for the John Guthrie Cup at Tom Clyburn Oval at 1pm.
