Last Saturday Canowindra A Grade played Valleys at Holman Oval in Cowra. After winning the toss Canowindra sent Valleys in to bat first. Valleys got off to a strong start in the 10overs until a bowling bhance from both ends aw G. Singh and P. Guthrie really tighten things back up, bringing on a run out from Brendan Traves last ball. After drinks Singh and Guthrie continued bowling leading to 2 more quick wickets putting Cano back in the front foot middle order. Later hitting saw Valleys post a very defendable 7/186 from their 40 overs. Pete Guthrie and Ben Schaefer opened for Cano’s turn to bat but lost an early wicket with Ben Schaefer getting caught for 8 and G. Singh fell not long after for 0. Matt Harrison joined Pete Guthrie for 79 at the end of the 40 overs Canowindra fell 15 runs short. It was a close game that didn’t fall Canowindra’s way but all players did well.
