Country Care Link began in 1992 and is one of many outreach services provided by the Sisters of Charity. A volunteer meets country people who are visiting Sydney for Medical appointments or people who are visiting family members in a Medical Facility. A volunteer meets you at the airport, bus or train station and drive you to the hospital or medical facility you require. The same service is available when needing to return to the airport, bus or train station after your medical appointment. This wonderful outreach service is provided free of charge fulfilling the Sisters of Charity Outreach motto: Compassion in Action.
I was recently admitted into hospital in Sydney. I travelled down by plane and was met at Sydney airport by a very friendly Country Care Link volunteer who helped me with my luggage and drove me to the hospital. This very daunting and difficult journey was made much easier with this service. If you are travelling by plane, bus or train from the country to Sydney for medical treatment, don’t hesitate to contact this free service which is available to everyone.
