Community Shines at Canowindra Show

27 September, 2017 By editor

The 2017 Canowindra Show did not disappoint with something on offer for everyone. From sideshow alley, to rides, dodgem cars, showbags, woodchopping, show jumping, sports shearing, chook washing, magic shows and tractor pulling the show had it all! The Cobley Pavillion was full of artworks, lego, photographs, cakes, eggs, flowers and fresh produce all entered by local community members.

There was a great turn out on Friday afternoon and evening with the show bar in full swing and the fireworks capturing the eyes of the crowd assembled on the hill and in the grandstand. On Saturday afternoon Andrew Gee MP for Calare announced the 2017 Showgirls with Jennifer Holmes crowned Senior Showgirl and Tess Frecklington Junior Showgirl. Jennifer will now go on and compete in the Zone Showgirl.

There was also the sashing of the Jackaroo and Jillaroo winners for 2017. They were Jack Parish and Mackenzie Maunder (4-6 years), Jack Smyth and Ruby Arnott (7-10 years) and Mitchell Stephens and Nat Pace (11-13 years).
