Following on the back of the highly successful Canowindra Volunteer Expo, which was a celebration of community, connection and contribution, Deb Rutter from the Canowindra Creative Centre Inc has lauched a free Facebook page named Canowindra Volunteers.
From sport and arts to emergency services, landcare, and social support, communityand volunteer groups play a powerful role in making Canowindra a strong, supportive, and vibrant place to live. The new Facebook page aims to be a directory to create awareness of the volunteer opportunities in Canowindra and complement the existing social media pages for local community and volunteer groups.
The Canowindra Volunteers page is an opportunity for community and volunteer groups to publicise their group and provide information on the various volunteer roles available.
“Only a few groups are listed at this early stage however it would be great to have all our wonderful Canowindra groups, organisations and volunteer opportunities included,” said Deb Rutter.
Community and volunteer groups are invited to include basic details to direct people to their contacts, website or facebook page and create awareness of the many activities people can be involved in to support their group.
To visit the new page simply search for ‘Canowindra Volunteers’ and look for the purple flower. To have your group included, or for further information phone Deb 0487 801 767 or email: debrutter@bigpond.com
