The NSW Government is providing funding for projects to make communities more attractive places to live and work and Cabonne Council is calling on community groups to submit projects that may be suitable for this funding.
New infrastructure, such as parks, playgrounds and cycle tracks are being earmarked, along with refurbishments to existing facilities including community centres and libraries. Enhancing local parks and supporting facilities, such as kitchens and toilet blocks will also be considered.
There is no cap on the cost of projects, however each project must be worth at least $100,000. Proposals which are ‘shovel ready’ are likely to be given a high priority. Mayor Kevin Beatty said “Your project should be ready to commence immediately after any funding announcement and all planning requirements, such as DA’s should be underway.”
Cr Cheryl Newsom, from Canowindra, said “I urge all local community groups to consider their needs and apply for this funding. With applications closing before the end of January, it is vital to start the process now, well before Christmas and the holiday break.”
