Community Encouraged To Be A Part Of Cowra Health Services Consultations

16 July, 2020 By editor

Mayor of Cowra, Councillor Bill West at the Cowra Hospi- tal funding announcement in June 2019. Please note, this picture was taken before physical distancing measures and travel restrictions came in to place.

Mayor of Cowra, Councillor Bill West is encouraging the Cowra Shire community to get involved and be a part of Cowra Health Services community consultations currently being undertaken online and in person in Cowra.

“I urge all residents to get involved in the community consultation sessions currently available. This process is a vital step in developing our future hospital, indeed it is one of the key foundation blocks,” said Cr West.

Western NSW Local Health District is inviting Cowra Shire residents and those in the surrounding villages to be a part of the consultation process. It aims to focus on the health needs of people in Cowra and the wider region and gather relevant and vital health feedback to develop the Cowra Clinical Services Plan. The Cowra Clinical Services Plan is the first step in the planning and development of the $70.2 million upgrade to Cowra Hospital.

“The process for building a new hospital starts with good planning,” said Cr West. “Developing a Clinical Services Plan that is specific to the communities health needs means our residents should have a hospital that is relevant to us,” Cr West continued.

Residents are invited to attend community drop-in sessions at the Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre to be held on Monday 20 July 2020 from 10.00am to 3.00pm. Residents can also provide feedback via email to feedback@truenorthcomm.com.au, via phone on 0447 310 567 or via completing an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CowraCSP.

“There are a number of options our community can access to be a part of this important process,” said Cr West.

“It is imperative that we all provide our feedback because if you wish for a certain health service to be a part of our future hospital and you don’t provide that feedback, then that health service may not be a part of the plan.”
