Eugowra residents enjoyed a free Christmas Party on Saturday, 17th December.
On Saturday, 17th December, Eugowra residents came together to celebrate with a Community Christmas Party hosted by Cabonne Council.
The Eugowra Showground was transformed from an evacuation and support hub, to a festive fairground with marquees, stage, Santa’s cottage and children’s entertainment.
The afternoon kicked off with jumping castles, face painting, a mechanical bull, water slides and Santa photos for the kids. While the adults enjoyed the opportunity to sit back and relax, and enjoy a good time with friends.
The Forbes town band got things grooving early in the evening, before the talented Austen Logan and Kath and Husky graced the stage, performing for the crowd of over 500.
Grazing boxes and a beautiful Christmas dinner was supplied by Woolworths, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Santa and Mrs Claus were a hit on the night, with free Santa photos provided for all the families. The beautiful Santa display was kindly donated and received many compliments on the night.
Santa then headed to the main stage on the postie’s bike to hand out presents to the children. All gifts were generously donated and sent from across the country by individuals, businesses and organisations such as Channel 9.
The children rushed to the stage with such excitement to receive their presents. The outpouring of support for the children of Eugowra was very much appreciated.
The success of the night was thanks to the countless hours provided by committee members, volunteers, those who donated goods and services and community members who helped set up on the day.
The Christmas Party continued well into the night, giving the residents hope that the community can continue to rebuild and come together to celebrate for years to come.
