Gaskill St was packed on Saturday afternoon for the annual Canowindra Christmas Shopping Evening. Local shops and businesses kept their doors open until 7pm so the locals could get their Christmas shopping done early and locally. The street was filled with kids who were getting their faces painted outside Magge Designs and also received a free helium balloon. The front lawn of Montrose House was filled with local market stalls and we even spotted Mr and Mrs Claus at the Craft shop along with a variety of craft activities
for the children.
The Santa Photo Pre-School fundraiser earlier in the day at Montrose House was a sell-out.
There was live music outside The Old Vic Inn from Kai Viti which added to the festive atmosphere of the evening. The Royal Hotel was offering $5 schooners and Pizza and Kebab Co launched its new menu on the night. A big thank you must go to Don Percival and the members of the local Lion’s Club for making sure the Santa’s were all put up around town just in time for the Christmas Shopping Evening again this year.
