Christmas Lunch

16 December, 2015 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The committee behind the Canowindra Christmas Lunch are busy finalising plans for the free community lunch at the Canowindra Bowling Club with local organiser Lyn Rasmussen happy to report that they now have more than enough hands to ensure the day goes smoothly.

“Though the lunch originally began for the lonely or struggling, everyone is welcome. We always have more than enough food, so the more, the merrier! It’s not just for people on their own, but the whole family,” said Lyn. “We’re extending the invitation to all locals who will be home for Christmas, as well as people from surrounding towns, there’s still plenty of time to put your name on the list.”

On the menu is a smorgasbord of ham and turkey, supplied by Belubula Butchery, homemade salads, and a dessert of pavlova and sticky date pudding made by Canowindra@Home. Transport is available for those who need it, although unfortunately due to the unavailability of the taxi, it cannot be provided for those in wheelchairs.

Bookings are essential and should be made by the 18th December at Belubula
Butchery, Canowindra Health Centre, St Vincent de Pauls and the Canowindra Food Basket. For more information, contact Lyn Rasmussen on 0409 867 002.
