Christmas in July is back and as the main sponsor of this event, the Canowindra Phoenix is inviting all businesses and outlets in the community to get into the spirit of Christmas and decorate their stores.
The Christmas in July Window Competition is open to all businesses in the community and we are hoping that all businesses will participate. Tommy Jeffs is leading by example with the windows across the road from Deli Lama demonstrating the Christmas spirit.
Some amazing prizes are up for grabs, including a night for two at Lilianfels Resort and Spa for the winning retailer and a night at the Blue Mountains Manor House for the second most popular display, where the winners will enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and a complimentary breakfast. A lucky voter will also be drawn as the winner of a lunch for two at Deli Lama.
To vote, simply complete the form on Page 12 or on our website by listing your favourite Christmas in July window from 1 to 3. After you have completed the form, submit it at the Canowindra Phoenix office on Gaskill Street.
Christmas in July is a celebration intending to mimic the northern hemisphere’s white wintery Christmas and many events are being organised in celebration. Molong RSL Club will host a 2 course buffet style dinner on Saturday 18th July with 3 meats and dessert.
Tommy Jeffs will be catering a 3 course dinner at the Royal Hotel on Saturday 25th July, serving soups, a traditional roast with turkey, smoked Virginia ham, a hearty variety of vegetables and finishing with a meringue and fresh cream or steamed pudding with custard.
Billimari Hall will also hold an event on the 25th of July which will include a traditional dinner, Christmas pudding, churros, eggnog, spicy apple cider, light entertainment and more.
