Jack Smyth went fishing with his dad at the Belubula River and caught a Carp. He was using his new rod that he got for Christmas and was using tinned corn.
Carp are well known as a pest because of their destructive bottom-feeding habits, which stir up sediments and muddy the water. Due to this the fish was not released back into the water and neither should any other Carp caught.
Great catch Jack; we now have a few less carp in our rivers!
