Cabonne Council Mayor Kevin Beatty in Gaskill St, Canowindra.
Following on from the enquiry-by-design consultation sessions and drop-in sessions held in August, Urban Design experts Sala4D and King+Campbell are returning to Canowindra today to display their findings and suggestions for a revitalised town centre.
In August, the Canowindra community were invited to explore and shape ideas regarding ways to create more attractive and functional spaces. Consultation sessions identified the values of the community to ensure the project effectively adds value for the community.
The Canowindra community’s impression of their town centre was that it is part of a historic village and they would like to maintain the nostalgic feeling of the main street. They also wish to feel welcome, safe and comfortable when they are using the space.
The papers outlining the suggested changes to achieve these visions went to the Council meeting on 27th October 2020 with the intention to be displayed publicly on Council’s website from Wednesday 28th October for a period of 21 days.
Representatives from Sala4D and King+Campbell will be in Canowindra today to answer any questions you may have about the findings of their consultations.
Today Thursday, 29 October there will be a drop-in session at The Old Vic Inn from 10am-4pm followed by an evening presentation at Canowindra Services Club from 6pm-7pm. Please book in for this session.
To book in for the evening session, please contact Council’s Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Emma Tadros on 0419 719 632 or by emailing council@cabonne.nsw.gov.au with details of how many people are in your party.
