In a very close game over the weekend, the Canowindra Tigers have now moved into second place on the ladder with a win over Orange United 28-24.
The Tigers were in control of the match leading at half time 20 points to 4 but the Orange United Warriors had different ideas and struck early in the second half and had most of the momentum going their way. Orange in the 25th minute scored a try to put them in the lead to the tune of 24-20.
Canowindra having more procession moved the ball wide for Tim Roberts to score in the corner and Nick Barlow put the conversion through the post the Tigers were now up 26-24. A late penalty kicked by Jayden Brown in the last minute eased the win. Players player went to Lewis Dywer.
The League Tag team put on a very entertaining game over the weekend with the result still in doubt 10 minutes out from full time.
Orange United led at the break 12-6 and there was no score until the 22nd minute when United scored to lead 16- 6.
The Tigeresses couldn’t finish their plays and could of scored but the final pass went to ground. Orange finished stronger running two more tries to make the final score 28- 6.
This weekend the Tigers are playing in Grenfell on Sunday.
