Canowindra Women’s Bowls

2 April, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Result of No. 4 Pennant 9th round match played at home on Tuesday 25th March against Forbes. Forbes won with an aggregate of 51-24, winning both rinks and scoring 5 points. Thanks to Umpire Sheryn O’Malveney and Controlling Body Colleen Crump. Thanks to Johnno for preparing such a good green for us to play on.

Result of one match played.

MAJOR SINGLES – 1st round – Heather Hoad defeated Margaret Gosper in a very close match 25-23. Thanks to marker Gwen Haydon.

Two games of social bowls were played, one pairs and one triples.

Bobbie Turner & Nancy Morrow defeated Radka Tatterson & Moyna Rue 17-14.

Colleen Crump (who played lead & second) & Marion Wilson defeated Betty Hodge, Libby Balcombe & Maureen Baillie 19-16.

The Lucky Draw was won by Heather Hoad with No. 11.

The raffle was won by Alison Newcombe, our bar person.

The 10th round of the No. 4 Pennant was not played on Thursday 27th March due to wet weather, this will now be played on Tuesday 1st April.

We had a team attend Newstead’s 50th Birthday on Thursday 27th March. Jean Roth, Colleen Crump & Nancy Morrow represented our club. No bowls played due to wet weather, so the ladies played cards. All of our bowlers received Spider Prizes.
