Canowindra Volunteer And Community Group Expo

28 May, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Thank you to all the Stallholders that attended the Canowindra Volunteer and Community Groups expo and to those who called in for a chat, discovering groups and various activities that are available in Canowindra.

We are very fortunate to have so many dedicated, community minded people who often are involved in multiple groups.

Congratulations Michael Harrison who was the winner of the Lucky Door Prize, a beautiful Fishbone Fern in a ceramic pot.

The day was very successful with requests to make this a regular event. Discussions are underway.

Thank you to the Canowindra Creative Centre Inc, Cabonne Council and The Centre for Volunteering representative Clint Bertenshaw who travelled from Hobart Tasmania to be with us, we were very fortunate to have him share his insights with us.

Volunteers are vital to our community.

Contributing to connecting people, positive health and social activities and the town’s economy. Where would we be without them? Many roles in community groups and organisations escape our awareness, with much happening behind the scenes creating something quite specular.

Volunteers give time, energy, and financially at times, because they believe in the positive effect their group offers. It is a passion, friendship, belief in community and purpose that returns satisfaction and quiet reward.

Thank you to all the groups and volunteers active in Canowindra, making us stronger with you and far richer in your company.
