On Sunday the Tigers travelled to Cargo for a highly anticipated local derby. Youth League played Manildra in a tight contest. The final score of 32-16 to Manildra is not a true reflection of the game with Manildra running in several late tries. The boys are starting to play some good football right at the end of the year.
The League Tag girls had a tough day with Cargo taking a convincing win with the final score ending up 64-10. Despite the one sided score line, the Tigresses are improving week to week and they can keep their heads held high as they tried until the end of the game.
“The girls showed considerable improvement in attack. We are going to continue to work on our defence in the 2 weeks leading up to our next game in Young against Burrangong on the 22nd,” said Kristy White.

First grade was the kind of game that had everyone at the ground on the edge of their seats – a game in which either team could have taken the win, however Canowindra sealed the win with minutes of the match remaining at 34-24. In the end it was Canowindra’s teamwork and tenacity in defence that proved the difference.
Best and Fairest and Three points: Wiase Ratudina
Two Points: Leo Lloilo
One Point: Brydon Hughes and Callum Clyburn
The Tigers have the bye next weekend. On Saturday night however, the Royal Hotel in combination with Montrose House are hosting our Christmas in July function. We hope to see as many people there as we can. Details can be found on our Facebook page.
