Tractors trek down a road during this year’s Central West Charity Tractor Trek
Tractor trekers from Canowindra have played a big role in this year’s annual Tractor Trek, with over $70,000 raised.
The Central West Charity Tractor Trek is a fundraiser that occurs each year, and sees tractor owners from many different locations descend on the Central West to embark on a road trip around the region over a number of days.
Each participant is required to collect sponsorship money, with all funds raised going towards assisting children and their families within the Central West and Regional New South Wales.
“Our objective is to raise funds to help assist families with children that are suffering from illness and/or disabilities and our mis-sion is to support these children and their families and provide them with financial assistance during these difficult times,” said Tractor Trek Director Nicholas Clancey.
“Our Tractor Trek Group has been successfully fundraising and conducting Trac- tor Treks for the past 5 years in Regional NSW.”
“For all who take part, The Central West Tractor Trek is all about celebrating the joys and smiles in which the tractors bring to local residents in the rural communities through which it passes.”
This year’s Trek saw participants travel from Dubbo to Wongarbon, Beni and Geurie, with a number of different raffles and community visits occurring on each of the three days between September 27 and 29.
Canowindra’s Roy White and Dick Morrison entered this year’s event, raising over $2,000 between them with their tractors.
