CANOWINDRA TIGERS
Round 3 of the competition the Tigers went up against Grenfell with a hard fought game. The first 6 minutes into the game Grenfell
led as Canowindra continued to make mistakes. Canowindra failed to move up in defence allowing Grenfell to run in their third try making the score 16-0. Canowindra finally got a good kick in to get them over the line for the first try of the game in the 24th minute, with Marika Kirkoroivai scoring. As Canowindra gets on a roll they make it over the line again with a successful conversion.
In the second half Grenfell came out strong scoring under the goal posts within minutes taking the score to 30-14. As Canowindra
struggled to keep up and form together in the second half the final score left them at 64-14.
“The boys tried rally hard, we had a number of injuries with Callum Clyburn out for a hamstring and Jayden Brown with a corked thigh. The front row had a great game!” said Barry Traves.
Next weeks game will be against Cargo at home ground. Points went to:
3 points and Players Player: Mick Clyburn
2 points: Baily Cain
1 point: Jayden Brown, Aaron Earsman
CANOWINDRA TIGRESSES
The Canowindra Tigresses came up against Grenfell in round 3 of the competition. The final score was 48-0 with Canowindra being
on the back foot for most of the game. Great defensive efforts from Keira Whatman, Lisa Bourke and Meg Waters on the day who didn’t give up. Although the score line indicates otherwise, if all the girls can get to training and the little ball handling errors can be eliminated, the Tigresses look fairly promising.
3 points and Players Player: Keira Whatman
2 points: Kristy White
1 point: Mel Frazer.
