The Tigers came away with their first win of the season with a close result downing Orange Warriors 20 points to 16 in a very hard match. Unfortunately, Warriors lost their captain coach just before half time when he was sent off, and another player early in the second half.
The tigers were in control of the game, leading 16 to 10 midways through the second half. Though some fundamental errors gave the Warriors too much possession.
They constantly attacked the Tigers line and their halfback, using very good footwork, scored a try which was converted to lock thescores up at 16 all with 10 minutes to go.
To set up a exciting finish for the match and through the leadership of Ronnie Lawrence, and Gater and Moz Tidswell taking the ball forward, the Tigers finally gained the advantage deep into the Warriors half and sent the ball smoothly across the back line for Tigers winger Taualli to go over in the corner to score the winning try.
The Tigeresses had a very good win against Orange Warriors. The League Tag started the day with a good result with both sides locked up 10 all with only three minutes remaining on the clock. Payton for the second week in a row, took an intercept to score the winning try under the post for the final score of 16 points to 10. Although this game had some fundamental mistakes, both sides were willing to throw the ball around for an entertaining game.
Next week the Tigers travel to Molong which should close game. A big thank you the sponsors of the club and by the next home game a new speaker system will be in place.
