On Saturday the League Tag Girls and First Grade travelled to Young to take on the Burrangong Bears. The league tag girls had a slow start with Burrangong racing away to an unexpected 12-0 lead. The Tigresses fought back but were unlucky in the end with the final
score ending up 18-14 to Burrangong.
The first grade boys started the game well, racing away to a 12-0 lead within the first 10 minutes. However, from that point they thought the game was won and disappointingly switched off allowing the Bears to go into the halftime break with a 20-12 lead.
The team regrouped at half time and discussed the need to go back to basics. Within minutes of the second half starting the Tigers seemed to score at ease. The Tigers played some exciting football and completely demoralised the Bears, with the final score ending up 48-26, making for an enjoyable bus trip home.
Due to a double booking of the sporting complex, this week’s game against the Peak Hill Roosters has been moved from Sunday to Saturday night. The League Tag Girls kick off at 4.40pm and 1st Grade commencing at 6pm. 1st grade are still a mathematical chance of making the semi-finals – needing to win all of their 3 remaining games. This is the second last home game for the year and we would love to see as many supporters at the ground to give to the girls and boys some encouragement and vocal support.
