Canowindra Tigers

30 May, 2018 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Canowindra Tigers started the first half in second gear and allowed Trundle too much field position. The Tigers gave Trundle too much possession from drop ball’s and too many penalties which Trundle capitalised on running 3 tries in 16 minutes to lead 16-0.

Although Trundle scored two early tries the Tigers showed true spirt and played very entertaining football. The forwards showed tenacity in attack and defence and the backs capitalised pushing through Trundle’s defence. This resulted in the Tigers scoring three tries closing the gap to twelve points and were unlucky not to score more. The Tigers won the second half 16-12 but had given the competition leaders too much start and the final score was 38-26to Trundle.

Best and Fairest Points went to 3 – Dan Middleton, 2 – Kain Earsman and 1 – Nathan Whatman, Dave Hogan and Brydon Hughes.
Points came from try scorers Dan Madden 2, Brydon Hughes 2, Nathan Whatman 1 and Matt McLean kicked 3/5 goals.
