The Canowindra Tigresses won against Gunning on the weekend 16-14
The Canowindra Tigers had their first hit out last weekend with a trial game against Gunning.
With a number of players unavailable due to personal commitments there were 15 players that made the trip to Gunning. The game was played over 3×20 minute periods, this proved to be a good format gauging the Tigers fitness levels.
All players put in a great effort but lacked continuity in attack and the Tigers failed to convert their opportunities into points when having many raids on Gunning’s try line.
The game ended with a 12 all draw with Gunning scoring 1 late try to even up the score.
The Tigers have another trial against Young in a fortnight and this will be a good hit out before the season starts.
The Tigresses had a hard fort win over Gunning 16-14 in a very entertaining game. There was good ball movement and a lot of tagging skills have improved. The girls were without some players as well due to personal commitments.
This Sunday, 15th March there will be around 18 teams competing at the Western League Tag Carnival in Canowindra. The Carnival will kick off at 10am at Tom Clyburn Oval.
