Congratulations Ava Thornberry for winning gold at the NSW CHS in the 50m Freestyle
Prior to Easter, Canowindra High School student Ava Thornberry, won Gold at the CHS State Swimming championships held at Homebush.
This is possibly only the third medal won for the entire Western area in the past 20 years. The last time Canowindra won gold at the state carnival was in the early 2000’s by Lisa Corrigan who went on tocompete at the Olympics.
Ava will now compete at NSW All Schools, where four of the Canowindra High School Year 8 girls have also been selected to compete in the Medley Girls relay.
