Canowindra Swim Club Championships will be conducted at the end of the season, on 4th March, 11th March and 18th March 2022 (with a spare night on the 25th March for weather interruptions).
To qualify in each stroke for the Club Championships, a swimmer must have competed five times in each stroke, over the course of the season. This only equates to 5 nights out of a total of 13 club nights to qualify. Three swims in one stroke on one night, doesn’t equate to 3 swims in that stroke, only one.
If a club night is cancelled due to weather and you have entered, this will count as having swum for that night. If you have entered and fail to swim on a given club night, that entry doesn’t count as a swim, you must swim to qualify.
The Championships will be swum in Individual Age Groups, 8yrs and under, 9 -16yrs, and Seniors. Points will be allocated from race results over the three nights, where an Age Champion and Runner up will be awarded at our Presentation Night on 1st April 2022. The Presentation Night will be held at the Royal Hotel, Covid restrictions permitting. If needed, an alternative venue will be advised.
Only swimmers with Canowindra Swimming Club as their primary club will be eligible.
Swimmers are expected to perform strokes in accordance with FINA rules and will be disqualified under the same rules, including the one start rule. Swimmers’ ages for the season are taken as of 30th January 2022 (the club carnival date).
