With over 200 entries, a beautiful pool and a warm day, The Canowindra Swimming Club was set to host a great Carnival. Off the blocks early in the program the Individual Medley saw swimmers represented from Canowindra, Cudal, Bathurst City, Forbes Fins, Parkes and Blayney all swimming for
qualifying times or their 1st time at a Swim Meet.
200m Medley Relays before lunch brought lots of cheering from Swimmers. Open Mixed had a close finish with Bathurst coming in 1st, followed by Kinross for 2nd and Canowindra in 3rd.
U10 Mixed 100m Medley had a very close 1st from Bathurst, Orange Aquatic Club in 2nd and a strong finish Canowindra for 3rd. Thanks to Chris Rowston, a Life Member and committed Committee member for his dedication to the Club and success of the day. Starting races and coordinating the officials Colin Touzell and Pat Charnock, all the knowledge and expertise is very valuable to the Carnival.
100m Freestyle brought lots of speed and style to the pool with Swimmers from Knox, Lithgow, Grenfell and City of Orange achieving good times.
To the Canowindra Swimmers and families who all worked so very hard in and around the Pool together to put on a fantastic Carnival.
Results were outstanding in the Pool, snagging many ribbons and trying very hard all day long. Being the only fundraiser for the Season we rely on this day to financially support the club and make improvements to equipment and developing swimmers and officials within the Canowindra Swimming Community.
If any businesses would be interested in supporting the Canowindra Swimming Club or 2020 Carnival we would appreciate your expression of interest before the end of the Season. Contact Alison Stephens canowindraswimclub@gmail.com
