Canowindra Show Schedule Available Now

There are only 8 more sleeps until the Canowindra Show kicks off and the excitement is building! The Show Office located at Central Motors, 91 Gaskill Street, Canowindra is now open until Thursday 20th September with hours each day varying. Call in and purchase your tickets and grab a show schedule. Other enquiries can be made with Sarah at The Shearing Shed Hair and Beauty at 78 Gaskill Street, Canowindra.

The Canowindra Show will be held on 21st and 22nd September 2018 so now is the time to start planning your entries, new projects or completing others for entry into a number of the great sections in the Cobley Pavilion.

A new section has been added this year Section FB: Fire Buckets: Sponsored By Andrew Holmes and Judged by head line act The Crackup Sisters. The Best Fire Bucket entries must all be the entrants own work and are open to age 15 and up. Entry fee is $5, with First Prize collecting $60 and the Runner Up receiving $40. All exhibits must be delivered to the bar area at Canowindra Showground prior to 9am Friday 21st September 2018.

Section S: Needlework: Has a new class to enter in. ‘Knitted or Crocheted Beanies’. It would be great to see some examples of creative Beanies of different sizes and styles.

Section T: Cut Flowers: The weather has not been generous to gardens this year, however resilience, love of flowers and all things green can always be found. As always many classes to enter into are available including Camellia, Marguerites, Geraniums, Pelargonium, Orchid, Pansies, Polyanthus, Stock, Sweet Peas, Primula, Bulbs, Ranunculus, Anemone, Arum Lily, Daffodil, Dutch Iris, Iris, Tulip, Freesia, Shrub, Tree or Shrub Bloom.

Section Ta: Decorative Flowers: This is a great opportunity to be creative with flowers including Camellias, decorative basket, arrangement of bulb/tuber bloom, flower, modern line arrangement, decorative trough, modern arrangement, foliage, dining table arrangement, decorative arrangement,
arrangement of Sweet Peas, arrangement depicting a song and a float bowl.

Pot Plants: Pot size maximum 30cm. Fern, Cyclamen and pot plant in flower, coloured leaf plant, Orchid, indoor foliage and succulent. For children under 12: arrangement in egg cup/small kitchen utensil or depicting a nursery rhyme. Under 8: arrangement for a cubby house or decorative saucer. Pre-school age: arrangement on a kitchen utensil or in a shoe/boot.

As always, make sure you read the Schedule especially the sections you are most interested in and follow all the instructions. All levels of skill, experience and knowledge are welcomed and encouraged.
