CANOWINDRA PYTHONS JUNIOR RUGBY UNION

16 August, 2017 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

This week the Canowindra and Cowra U13s hosted the Mudgee Blues at a home game in Canowindra. The boys played a fantastic game against a much larger, older and stronger side, with the final score 37- 15 to the Mudgee team. Points for the week went to: 3 Points – Dylan Slattery, 2 Points – Ethan Tindall and 1 Point – Charlie Duclos. The Under 13’s would like to thank the senior pythons for putting on a great lunch in which 130 players, family and friends gathered at the clubhouse after the game.

Although U7s numbers were depleted on Sunday, the youngest Pythons had a fantastic day! After a lets run straight up chat by the coaches, a try scoring fiesta took place with everyone scoring at least once. U9s Hassad Player of the day was Connor Watson for scoring his first try for the year. It was a great team effort from the boys all running hard and cleaning out the defenders, resulting in two wins out of three games. Coach Luke Breen was very proud of them saying “It was the toughest he has seen them play.”

The U11s boys had a hard day at the office on Sunday playing Bathurst, Wellington and Mudgee. Oscar Cleary and Harry Hazelton ran straight and hard. Mitchell Stephens was involved in everything and Will Pearce showed how tough he is in defence.
