The Canowindra Pythons played Cootamundra last Saturday and were beaten 43-17 after Coota led 17-10 at half time. The four Fijian imports that recently arrived for Cootamundra didn’t help the Pythons cause, but coach John Grant said that was no excuse and called on more commitment from the players and to attend training.
He said that the Pythons have a home game against Condobolin this Saturday, then a general bye for the long weekend and then another home game against West Wyalong. “If we can win those games, then we are back in semi-final contention,” said John Grant.
John Grant scored two tries and kicked a goal. Paul Vaughn also kicked a conversion and a penalty goal. Hayden Hewitt got 3 points for Best and Fairest, Ronnie Lawrence 2 and Players Player and 1 point went to Daniel Bowd and Vaugh Nolan.
Come along and support the boys this Saturday against Condobolin with kick off at 3pm.
