Canowindra Pythons

15 May, 2019 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

With a chilly Saturday it was a great day for rugby and to host our annual Ladies Day, thank you to all involved in making this day a success.

It was a close game between Canowindra-Cowra and Wellington with the girls playing extremely well. The girls were helpful giving Wellington some pointers along the way. With princess getting tackled (head high) on two separate occasions the ref had enough and sent two Wellington players off with yellow cards. Wellington were just too quick and once they got through there was no catching them. The Canowindra-Cowra girls went down 29-12 with tries scored by Amy and Ash and conversion by Tarcia. This week the girls take on City on Cowra home soil at 12:45pm.

The men’s side had a home game to Wellington. With a very fast game Wellington was just too strong winning 31-0. 3 points went to Lachie Davis, 2 points and players player to Lachie Sharp and 1 point each to Daniel Cheney and James Wolters. This week the men have a bye with Coonabarabran pulling out of the competition.
