CANOWINDRA PYTHONS

20 June, 2018 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

On Saturday the Pythons played the West Wyalong Weevils on a real wintery day. With the Pythons fielding a full complement of 25 players the boys warmed up with a lot of confidence. Both teams took a while to get the blood pumping with the artic conditions causing a fair few scrums early in the opening exchanges.

Once the forwards started dominating thanks to some great impact from Lachie Davis and James Watson in the second row and Tommy Lamond, Haydon Ewart and Tim Bray up the front. Dan Middleton was able to feed the slick back line some good ball going forward. Jayden Brown and John Grant had a field day with both players scoring a hat-trick of tries in the game. Rob Burns kicked 4/6 to help give the Pythons a strong victory at home of 38-19.

Points for the day went to 3 points and players player to Jayden Brown 2 points Ronnie Lawrence and 1 point to Rob Burns.

This weekend the Pythons travel to Temora to hopefully make it three wins in a row.
