The Country Women’s Association of NSW offers many competitions for both adults and children. The Canowindra CWA branch embraces the Schools’ International competition and covers both primary schools in Canowindra plus Cargo and Cudal.
The winners from this local round then compete against schools from the Central Western Group. The regional winners of the postcard and Powerpoint competitions then go on to compete against schools from across NSW.
At the recent annual State Conference in Wagga Wagga local CWA members were thrilled to hear that Florence McDonald from St Edward’s School Canowindra came second in the state for her postcard on France. What a wonderful achievement.
Canowindra CWA members had the opportunity to surprise Florence and present her certificate last Thursday evening during the branch’s 101st birthday celebration at the Old Vic Inn.
The Canowindra branch is very grateful to the schools involved and to the children that go on a journey of learning each year with them. This year the country of study is the Republic of Korea.
