Canowindra Men’s & Women’s Bowls

Men’s Bowls

Nothing happened here last weekend due to bitterly cold weather, so games that were drawn for last week will now be played next week. We have acquired a pool table at the club which proved very popular over the weekend, so for those who would like a bit of entertainment anytime come and have a game and play the jukebox.

Canowindra Women’s Bowls

Results of two matches played last Tuesday, 24th June.

Minor Singles Final – Christine Pickard def. Diane Slattery. Congratultions Christine the 2014 Minor Singles Champion. Thanks to the marker Sheryn O’Malveney.

Club Fours Championship – 1st round – Jenny Middleton (sub), Ellen Petty, Moyna Rue and Colleen Crump def. Joy Beattie (sub), Jean Roth, Linda Miller and Bobbie Turner.

2 games of social bowls were played, 1 pairs and 1 triples. Daph Bryant and Betty Jenkins def. Jill Messenger and Radka Tatterson. Gwen Haydon (lead & second) and Heather Hoad def. Marion Wilson, Shirley Robson and Nancy Morrow 16-13.

The lucky draw was won by Heather Hoad with No. 20. Jean Roth, Jill Messenger and Nancy Morrow represented the club at the Cowra Charity Day held on Thursday 26th June. They won their game, defeating a Cowra team skipped by Ruby Fogg. No triples won.
