Canowindra Lions Club Rolls Out New Community Catering Van

14 October, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

At the unveiling of the new Canowindra Lions catering van last Friday were Andrew Gee MP, Phil Donato MP, representatives from and members of the Canowindra Lions Club.

The Canowindra Lions Club is proud to officially unveil its bespoke, brand-new catering van—a vital asset made possible by an extraordinary wave of community support across the region.

Replacing the well-loved previous van, the new bespoke state-of-the-art catering van represents a major upgrade that will allow Lions members to serve Canowindra safely and efficiently for years to come.

Raising the required funds was a true collective effort, uniting local businesses, government representatives, and residents behind a shared cause.

Key financial backing came via major grants from the Cadia Valley Operations Community Support Program and the NSW Government, secured with valuable assistance from local MP Phil Donato. Crucial support was also provided by Federal MP Andrew Gee, the Manildra Lions Club, and numerous local businesses and community groups. In addition, everyday residents chipped in generously through a public GoFundMe campaign and various fundraising drives along the way.

The Lions Club catering van is an essential fixture of local life. From keeping volunteers refreshed at the essential Driver Reviver stop during busy holiday periods to feeding thousands of visitors at the iconic Canowindra International Balloon Challenge, the van is always where the community needs it most. It is equally hard at work at Central West Team Penning events, and countless charity functions year-round.

The new van stands as a testament to what Canowindra can achieve when funding bodies, local business, organisations, and residents work hand in hand. Keep an eye out for the fresh new look at the next local event.
