The Canowindra Junior Tigers played an awesome game last Sunday against the more fancied Parkes Spacemen.
It was the class of some of the Spacemen players that took advantage of their opportunities to win the match 28-6.
In the first quarter it was neck and neck, until Parkes forced their way over to lead 6-0. Early in the second quarter Parkes scored to extend their lead to 12-0.
Parkes put on a set play for the fullback to score next to the post to extend their lead to 18-0 in the third quarter.
Canowindra Tigers put in a clearing kick which Parkes spilled and the Tigers regained possession and spun the ball wide, to be pulled down just short of the line. Great play from hooker Will Cain dived over close to the post and Joel Wheeler added the extras and narrowed the score line to 18-6.
Parkes sealed the game with a strong run from their centre to score a try and lead 22-6 with only minutes left. A mistake in the dying seconds by Canowindra and Parkes scored but not converted.
All players performed well, lead by Wade Kinsela, Will Cain, Sullivan and Kelsey Pollard.
This week the Tigers play Forbes in Cowra at 12 pm.
