On Saturday Cowra Rugby Club hosted two games of under 12’s with the Canowindra Pythons taking on Bathurst Bulldogs in the opening match.
The young Pythons opened the game with a slow start letting Bathurst score two opening tries. Though after the second try it was one way traffic for the Canowindra team with Cooper Nash opening the tally for the Pythons and Jack Daly and George McKenzie adding a try each before half time.
The second half was a good one for the Pythons, with Jack Daly getting his second and Jack Nash and Isaac Sargent crossing the line also to leave the score at 30 to 12.
It was a good opening round result for the Pythons who have been training hard the last few weeks and hopefully will continue to improve with each match.
Points for the day went to Lochie Nash who showed great vision at half back picked up 3. Jack Daly with plenty of hot ups got 2 and Jack Trengove and Ella Parker got 1 each for playing a great game. Big moment award goes to Isaac for a great run up the middle of the field carting plenty of defenders with him.
This Friday Night the Pythons under 12’s have a home game against Orange Emus kicking off at 6:30pm. Come down to the Oval and cheer them on. BBQ will be operating from about 5:30pm.
