Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary Hosts Western Region Conference

13 April, 2023 By Jenny Weaver

On Wednesday, 29th March, the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary hosted the Annual UHA Western Regional Conference at the CWA Hall, Canowindra.

The conference was attended by UHA State President Tracy Wilkinson, Mayor of Cabonne Kevin Beatty who was invited to officially open the conference.

The guest speaker Brad Byrnes, General Manager of Cabonne Council, spoke on the effects the recent floods had on the villages and towns in Cabonne. Mr Byrnes also spoke about Cabonne Council’s future Recovery Plans for the area.

The Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary Branch is a member of the Western Region of the UHA of NSW Inc., which covers Rylstone, Bathurst, Blayney, Lithgow, Oberon, Orange, Eugowra, Canowindra, Molong, Cowra, Grenfell, Condobolin, Parkes, Forbes, Peak Hill, Portland, Tottenham and Trundle.

It is quite a large regional area, with all members working in a voluntary capacity. Their hard work provides the community with benefits such as equipment and supplies for hospitals and Multi-Purpose Health Services across the Central West region through fundraising.

This year to date, the Canowindra Branch has purchased equipment for the Soldier’s Memorial Hospital to the value of $9,400 and hope to see that number increase substantially throughout the remainder of the year. Please consider supporting the Hospital Auxiliary Fund when you see them fundraising in our town.
