The Age of Fishes Museum and Canowindra Historical Society have joined forces so that the Canowindra Historical Museum can be open more regularly for the general public to enjoy.
The Historical Society has been holding training sessions on a Wednesday from 9-10am to train new museum guide volunteers. The Historical Museum will now be able to open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am – 1pm as well as the usual opening time of Saturday’s between 10am and 12 noon.
“It will just be wonderful to have the Museum open more often,” said Historical Society Secretary Christine Sampson. The Historical Society works on a lot of family history projects when contacted. The increased opening hours of the Museum will mean that a lot of other jobs will be able to be completed including, cataloguing and archiving which has fallen behind in the past.
