The open day held last Saturday, 30th September at the Canowindra Historical Museum was a great success. Visitors from all over the state and the ACT, plus lots of locals often visiting for the first time, inspected the many and varied exhibits from the collections and learned how our past informs our present. A good sum was raised for the museum activities from book sales, donations and new memberships.
It was great to have so many Fleidner family members in attendance to unveil their family’s plaque on the Pioneer Wall commemorating the contribution made by their German ancestor to the development of the district.
Canowindra Historical Society and Museum Incorporated extend sincere thanks to those who made the open day such a great success, including the Age of Fishes Museum, Lawrence’s IGA, Bryton Wool and Canowindra Produce Co. for their generous help.
