Last Thursday the students from the Canowindra High School class of 2018 and their teachers welcomed the release of the Higher School Certificate results and Merit List for High Achievers.
Canowindra High School Year 12 students once again are to be congratulated on their HSC results with the majority of the students achieving their personal best. Across five of the sixteen subjects in which examinations were undertaken students achieved nothing under a band five. Similarly, achievements in English Advanced, Chemistry, Biology, Legal Studies, Industrial Technology, General 2 Mathematics, Senior Science and Mathematics not only saw the majority of students placed in the top two bands but also above the state mean.
Special mention should go to William Wright who was named on the High Achievers list for his band 6 in Biology. William also achieved exceptional results in his other subjects and is to be congratulated for his all-round performance.
Other students who performed well across their courses include Jennifer Berkrey, Julia Stanley, Ashley Frost, Alex Flannery, Mitchell Clark, Mackenzie Lazarou and Joe Coady.
“It is wonderful to see that the students have done so well and to hear how happy they are with their results. Many have already been accepted to University and these results will reinforce their decision to continue with their studies. Irrespective of their chosen career though, we look forward to hearing of their successes beyond school knowing, as a group, they are very capable of achieving their goals,” said Principal Neryle Smurthwaite.
The school is extremely pleased with the overall achievement of the cohort and wish them well in their future academic pursuits and career choices.
