The weeks of waiting are finally over for the class of 2016 and their teachers with the release last Thursday of the Higher School
Certificate results and Merit List for Distinguished Achievers. The results were received with a range of emotions for the thirty six students from Canowindra High School who successfully studied and completed their HSC across nineteen courses. The best performance for the school was recorded in PDHPE by Sithatshisiwe Ncube who received a band 6 placing her in the top 12.5% of the
state and on the Merit list for Distinguished Achievers. Other subjects where students performed extremely well were Agriculture,
Design & Technology, English Advanced and Standard, Industrial Technology and Senior Science.
Overall the results were very solid and complimented the student’s previous success in being recognised with major awards at the school’s Annual Presentation Night and gaining early entry to a range of universities. Across all subjects many of the students achieved their personal best and are to be congratulated for their commitment and hard work. On an individual level, Sithatshisiwe Ncube, Meg Austin, Lachlan Balcombe, Riley Frost, Matthew Harrison, Thabiso Ncube, Tammonwan Phumthong, Kelly Price, Maddison Spencer, Rachael Springall and Becky Thornberry all achieved sound results attaining multiple band 5’s and 4’s.
The teachers are very pleased with the student’s performance and commend them for their success and achievement of the rewards
of their study and preparation. We wish all students the very best in achieving their goals throughout the future.
