Canowindra Creative Centre Celebrates 10-year Anniversary

4 June, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Canowindra Creative Centre Committee celebrate 10 years at Orana House. CCC Office bearers pictured L-R: Veronica Smede (Treasurer), Roslyn Partridge (Secretary), Debbie Rutter (Chairperson), and Coralie James (President).

The Canowindra Creative Centre recently marked a remarkable milestone—10 years of fostering creativity, community spirit, and local talent. The celebration, held at Orana House, was a heartfelt event that drew an overwhelming number of locals who came together to congratulate the Committee and show their appreciation for the Centre’s contributions over the past decade.

What began as a small initiative has flourished into a vibrant hub of artistic expression and community connection. The Centre is well known for its diverse creative programs, including popular mosaic classes that attract both beginners and experienced artists alike. These hands-on sessions provide an opportunity for locals to learn new skills, share ideas, and connect through creativity.

A key feature of the Centre’s ongoing success is the shop on Gaskill Street, where an array of handmade goods is available at incredibly reasonable prices. From unique gifts to locally crafted art pieces, the shop not only supports local artisans but also adds charm to the town’s retail landscape.

The 10-year celebration was a testament to the dedication of the Committee and the enthusiasm of the wider Canowindra community. Attendees reflected on the Centre’s impact, shared memories, and looked forward to a future filled with even more creativity and collaboration.

As the Canowindra Creative Centre enters its next decade, it continues to serve as a cornerstone of artistic life in the region—a place where imagination thrives and community is at the heart of everything.
