The Committee of the Canowindra District Community Bank® are asking for all residents, business people and anybody living within the Canowindra area to register to take part in a survey. Now is the time to let the Committee know what your thoughts are on the Community Bank being opened and for them to gauge the level of support within the Community.
Following a recent meeting with representatives from the Bendigo Bank, the next step that is required is a feasibility study or customer survey. The survey will be conducted in person and will take around 10 minutes of your time. The Committee believe that this is a great way to let them know what everybody thinks, and whether we have the support to move forward.
With pledges sitting at $780,000 (still another $20,000 to go), and with over $11M of business on the books, it is now crunch time! The Agency in Gaskill Street continues to gain momentum and Belinda and Kaila are doing a great job of attracting new business.
To register your interest, there will be forms available at the following business houses within Canowindra: Canowindra Newsagency, The Bendigo Bank Agency located at Ian Simpson and Co Real Estate, Finns Store and other venues.
The Committee is hoping for a good take up and this survey will be conducted by an independent company for privacy reasons. Once this is completed, and it proves favourable the committee will go to the next step to start on the process of opening the Bank.
Remember the only way that this Bank will be established and become our own Community Bank is by the Community, local organisations, clubs, showground trusts, sporting teams and everyone supporting it and in turn enabling the committee to move to a true Community Bank. This will mean that those profits can be returned back to the Canowindra Community and those organisations.
