The who’s who of Cabonne business attended the 2015 Daroo Business Awards at Cudal Community Hall on Friday night, and Canowindra was well represented, showcasing the entrepreneurial successes of our town.
Grantham House B&B received the award for Excellence in Accommodation; Adloyalty took out the Advertising and Communications Award, and the Excellence in Environmental Enhancement Award went to Canowindra Community Garden. Local businesses awarded as Highly Commended were K&H Interiors & Design for Best New Business, Scrap Box Patchwork Designs in the Best Home Based Business category, Age of Fishes for Excellence in
Tourism and Rosnay Organic for Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture.
Cargo also had a good night, with Megan Claire Floral Design winning the Best New Business Award, Megan Foster Photography won Best Home Based Business, Cargo Store won the award for Excellence in Hospitality, and Cargo Men’s Shed won the Contribution to Cabonne Award.
The coveted Best Business in Cabonne Award was taken out by Eugowra’s M & A Bray, who also received Highly Commended in the Best Ongoing Business category. Highly Commended in the Best Business in Cabonne category went to none other than The Canowindra Phoenix. Publisher Cheryl Newsom said she was absolutely delighted and surprised to receive this award, thanking her wonderful team, all of the readers and of course the advertisers who make the Phoenix possible each and every week.
Mayor Ian Gosper said “the finalists in the Best Business in Cabonne put together excellent submissions, which were assessed by a panel of three judges from Cowra and Bathurst.”
